We’re proud to announce that United Way community hero and World War II veteran Bea Abrams Cohen will be joining countless other Angelenos at HomeWalk 2012 on Saturday, November 17 to show her support for the 9,000 military veterans currently living on the streets of L.A. County.
Having devoted the past seven decades to faithfully serving her country and reaching out to those in need, the 102-year-old trailblazer was a real-life “Rosie the Riveter” who not only supported the war effort as a factory worker for Douglas Aircraft but also as a soldier in the U.S. Army.
Please join Bea and United Way of Greater L.A. as we honor the tremendous sacrifices made by our veterans and strive to provide each and every one of these brave men and women with a safe and permanent place to call home.
This Veterans’ Day, we’re counting on you to do your part by registering, donating or fundraising for HomeWalk 2012! And remember, your money will go twice as far this year thanks to a generous grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation which will match – dollar for dollar – all contributions of $100 or more!
