2,356 people housed!

We are excited to announce the release of Home For Good’s latest progress report! The report has a great new look and documents important progress made by community partners toward Year 2 goals.

At the end of quarter 2 of Home For Good’s second year, 1,651 chronically homeless individuals and 705 non-chronic veterans are housed!

Other highlights from Quarter 2 include:

  • The Home For Good Funders Collaborative, an effort between 24 public and private funders, released $105 million in resources from public and private funders. These resources will be used to create permanent supportive housing throughout L.A. County.

  • Over 100 organizations, including 19 Neighborhood Councils and various city and county agencies, are protecting affordable housing by opposing the proposed L.A. City Community Care Facilities Ordinance.  Learn more and join the opposition at www.stopccfo.org.

  • Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s (LAHSA) Homeless Count Advisory Committee committed to obtaining more comprehensive data on homelessness by doubling opt-in participation for the 2013 Homeless Count, from 35 cities/communities in 2011 to 70 in 2013.

Home For Good Partners have made tremendous strides in addressing homelessness in Los Angeles. Barabara Poppe, Executive Director of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, put it best when she said, “We recognize Los Angeles as a home for solutions, a home for best practices, and a home for collaboration where the goal is clear and singular:  no one should experience homelessness; no one should be without a safe, stable place to call home.” Together we can create a stronger Los Angeles!
