On behalf of United Way of Greater Los Angeles, I'd like to welcome you to our website.

Our organization has been around since 1924 bringing hope to our community by permanently transforming lives.

Southern California once epitomized the American dream. It was a place where adults could find good jobs, kids could get a great education, and families could easily find an affordable home. Sadly, that dream seems out of reach for too many of our residents. High levels of poverty and homelessness, increasing numbers of high school dropouts, and a growing unskilled workforce threaten the health of our community. Making things better will take more than kind hearts and good intentions.

At United Way, we have committed to addressing the critical issues that threaten the future of our community. By investing resources in meeting basic needs, improving educational achievement, and increasing financial stability, we are creating pathways out of poverty for millions in Greater Los Angeles. The formula is simple: if basic needs are met, people can focus on getting a good education and improving their skills so they can secure better paying jobs and become financially stable.
