Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner US Regions Deloitte
Tony is a Vice Chairman, the National Managing Partner of the US Regions, and the Regional Managing Partner for the Pacific Southwest. He also serves on the Executive Committee and has been a member of Deloitte’s Board of Directors and Operating Committee. Prior to his current role, Tony was a Deputy Managing Partner. In addition, he was the Regional Managing Partner of the Central Atlantic Region for over five years and the Partner-In-Charge of the Pittsburgh Audit department for eight years. Tony serves as Advisory Partner for several important clients of the firm, including Trust Company of the West, The Apollo Group, CB Richard Ellis, Giant Industries, Nextel, Unified Grocers, Warner Bros, and Disney.
For 35 years, Tony has held various key positions at Deloitte. In 1980, he was admitted as a partner and served as Office Managing Partner in Austin Texas from 1984-1986. Tony was a member of the Firm’s Accounting & Auditing (A&A) Strategy Committee for two years, and was the inaugural chair of the A&A Human Resource Advisory Committee. He served as the US Firm representative on the Global Shared Values task force. He led several industry specialization groups in Pittsburgh , and co-chaired that office’s Woman’s Initiative Network.
Tony places a high importance on community involvement over the years and has frequently been asked to serve in leadership roles. In Los Angeles , Tony serves on the Boards of United Way of Los Angeles , the LA Chamber of Commerce, the World Affairs Council, and the San Gabriel Valley Boy Scouts. He is a trustee of the California Science Center and is the Chairman of Leadership LA.
For his alma matter, Tony was the inaugural chair of Penn State ’s Accounting Advisory Board and has recently been selected to serve on the Business School Board of Visitors.
While in Washington, D.C., Tony served on the Greater D.C. Board of Trade and Chair of its International Committee, the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Gallaudet University Board of Trustees, Chaired the Board of the Cultural Alliances of Greater Washington, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, United Way of Greater Washington Board (Campaign Chair 2000 and 2001), Executive Committee of the Greater Washington Research Center, Board Public Sector Council, Northern Virginia Roundtable, Executive Committee of the Federal City Council, Executive Committee Economic Club of Washington, and George Washington University Dean’s Advisory Council. Tony was also dinner chair for the Burgundy & Gold/Youth for Tomorrow Banquet, the Greater Washington Hear Ball, the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame Dinner, and several other community events. He also participated in the Leadership Programs in Washington and Pittsburgh and is the founder of Pittsburgh ’s Leadership Development Initiative.
Tony was named “Alumni of the Year” by Penn State Smeal College of Accounting. The “Alumni of the Year” award recognizes the college’s most eminent graduates and honors their outstanding professional accomplishments and exceptional allegiance to Smeal and its Department of Accounting. In October 2003, Tony received the Kogod Community Leadership Award by American University . This honor is given annually to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in business. Furthermore, in October 2000, Tony received Leadership Fairfax’s “Bridge the Potomac ” award, which recognizes an individual or organization for leadership in advancing the cause and spirit of regional collaboration and partnership with our community.
Tony graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Accounting. He also attended the Stanford University Executive Program in Organizational Change, and Leadership in Professional Services Firms at Harvard Business School
