California Schools Get a Shot at Fair Funding

Yup, that’s United Way president Elise Buik next to Governor Jerry Brown, as he shares his ideas in what the L.A. Times called “probably the most important school debate in decades.” The governor has proposed a new way to fund California schools, so that communities with greater needs get additional resources. We’re backing the plan, because it would level the playing field for students who are low-income, English language learners or in foster care. To find out more, check out this L.A. Times editorial.
