Leadership Circle
Donors who give $1,000 or more a year automatically become part of United Way’s Leadership Circle. Membership in the Leadership program demonstrates donors’ commitment to Los Angeles County and helps provide solutions for individuals and families to better their lives.
The Benefits of Being a Leader Leadership givers are very important to us and to the community. To recognize its Leaders, United Way provides a number of special benefits:
- Annual recognition in the Los Angeles Times (full-page ad)
- Special invitations to United Way functions, including exclusive Leadership Series sponsored events – call (213) 630-2103 for details
- United Way's Creating Pathways Out of Poverty Newsletter
Going Even Further
All of our Leaders are highly prized, but those who give $10,000 or more a year are entitled to join the Alexis de Tocqueville Society. Named after the French writer and aristocrat who extolled the American spirit of generosity in his classic study, “Democracy in America,” the society was created to recognize and celebrate outstanding individual philanthropy.
United Way has even created other tiers to recognize our top donors. The California Gold level is open to donors of $100,000 or more per year and the Million Dollar Roundtable is composed of our most extraordinarily generous donors.
We salute Million Dollar Roundtable individuals for their commitment, contribution, and compassion. To make a million dollar gift to a charity requires a remarkable level of commitment to the community and its needs.
As part of the Tocqueville Society, we have created Women Leaders, a powerful network of women dedicated to helping United Way of Greater Los Angeles reduce poverty for women in our community.
