JCPenney kids outside the storeUnited Way and JCPenney Award Afterschool Grant to help Youth Stay in School; provide $100 Spree for Families in Need.

Shopping Spree for 21 Families from Glendale’s New Horizon Family Center Thursday June 28, 2007- JCPenney, Glendale Galleria.

JCPenney kids inside the storeUnited Way of Greater Los Angeles recently received a $92,000 grant from the JCPenney Afterschool Fund to support afterschool organizations in Los Angeles County in the 2006-2007 school year. Each organization received a grant to provide scholarships for youth to attend the programs and $100 JCPenney gift cards for youth receiving the scholarships.


The JCPenney Afterschool Fund is a charitable organization committed to providing children with high-quality afterschool programs that foster their academic, physical and social development.

Kids selecting clothesOn Thursday, June 28th, 21 youth and families from New Horizons Family Center will come to the JCPenney Store in the Glendale Galleria to receive their gift cards and enjoy shopping in the store before it opens. New Horizons Family Center (NHFC), located in South Glendale, helps to foster the healthy development of children by training the whole family, and is a recipient of the grant.
