Herbalife's CEO on The Importance of Leadership and Volunteerism

On December 13, United Way's Emerging Leaders hosted its CEO Spotlight Event at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel for a select group of nearly 100 young professionals from corporations across the County.

Renee Fraser, CEO of Fraser Communications, opened the program with an overview of Creating Pathways Out of Poverty - UWGLA's plan to end homelessness, increase the graduation rate and ensure the financial stability of local families by 2016.

The highlight of the evening, however, was the roundtable discussion which followed between Fraser and Michael Johnson, the CEO of Herbalife and Chairman of the Herbalife Family Foundation, on using leadership, volunteerism and giving to make an impact on the community.

Johnson spoke candidly about his lifelong passion for philanthropy, the various challenges that have shaped his leadership abilities and the key qualities of an effective leader while also offering those in attendance a few valuable tips on how to succeed in the world of business.
