- 247 are children.
- 419 are people in families.
- 1,615 are unsheltered - living on the streets, in cars, parks, or abandoned buildings.
- 593 are chronically homeless, meaning they have been homeless for a long period of time and face one or more disabilities.

- Register now for HomeWalk 2008: HomeWalk is United Way’s annual 5K family walk to raise awareness and resources to end homelessness in Los Angeles County. This year’s walk takes place on Saturday, November 15th at Exposition Park.
- Join Local Coalitions: Help end homelessness by getting involved in local coalitions working toward permanent solutions.
- The Antelope Valley Homeless Coalition is currently advocating to increase the availability of emergency, transitional, and permanent housing for homeless individuals and families. The coalition meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30pm at the Fire Station Training Center, 42110 6th Street West, Lancaster, 93534.
