  • 1,497 are children.
  • 2,636 are people in families.
  • 8,985 are unsheltered - living on the streets, in cars, parks, or abandoned buildings.
  • 2,515 are chronically homeless, meaning they have been homeless for a long period of time and face one or more disabilities.

Will You? - 2009 Homeless Count Demographic Survey: The LA Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) needs volunteers to interview homeless individuals on the streets to collect information on the causes of their homelessness and the resources most likely to help them.     • The East San Gabriel Valley Consortium on Homelessness is a coalition of 50 government and nonprofit agencies working together to create Community Design Solutions to homelessness in the Greater San Gabriel Valley.
