In South Los Angeles, there are 11,670 people who are homeless each night. According to the 2007 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count:

  • 1,780 are children.
  • 2,969 are people in families.
  • 10,664 are unsheltered - living on the streets, in cars, parks, or abandoned buildings.
  • 3,593 are chronically homeless, meaning they have been homeless for a long period of time and face one or more disabilities.
