  • 969 are children.
  • 1,592 are people in families.
  • 5,662 are unsheltered - living on the streets, in cars, parks, or abandoned buildings.
  • 2,451 are chronically homeless, meaning they have been homeless for a long period of time and face one or more disabilities.

  1. Register now for HomeWalk 2008: HomeWalk is United Way’s annual 5K family walk to raise awareness and resources to end homelessness in Los Angeles County. This year’s walk takes place on Saturday, November 15th at Exposition Park.
  2. Join Local Coalitions: Help end homelessness by getting involved in local coalitions working toward permanent solutions.
    • The Westside Shelter and Hunger Coalition is an alliance of over 30 organizations, public agencies, and faith communities committed to ending hunger and homelessness through service coordination, public education and advocacy.
