Save the Date – HomeWalk 2008 –
Saturday, November 15th at Exposition Park!
HomeWalk is United Way’s annual 5K family walk to raise awareness and resources to end homelessness in Los Angeles County.
In 2007 – the first ever year of the walk - over 4,300 people participated, helping to bring awareness to the issue and raising $500,000 in donations.
The money will be invested in programs that can demonstrate proven results in:
- Rapidly re-housing homeless families
- Providing permanent supportive housing to the chronically homeless (where support services such as mental health and substance abuse treatments are located on-site).
HomeWalk is part of A Pathway Home, United Way’s year-round initiative to end homelessness through community engagement and mobilization, bringing the public and private sector together to work collaboratively, and strengthening the service network with strategic funding and capacity building.
Save the Date!
The date has been set for HomeWalk 2008! Please join us in the fight to end homelessness at Exposition Park on Saturday, November 15th.

The Need for a Pathway Home
- Los Angeles County is the “homeless capital” of America, with 73,000 people who are homeless each night.
- The faces of homelessness include women, children, seniors and veterans.
- Homelessness CAN be solved.
- We need the whole community to say, “Yes!”
- There is something YOU can do—walk, volunteer, support, and advocate to prevent and end homelessness.
