Sharrel Jan Narsico – 9th Grade, RFK Community Schools, NOW Academy
I am passionate about LGBTQ rights, family, art, literature, education, and cheaper colleges. I love art, and I love education. Somewhere along the way, I thought, hey, why not combine them together?
Currently, I have selected being an art professor and doing my own thing while helping other students out. However, this is one amongst many, even more that I haven’t even heard of, so I am still open to new ideas.
I am inspired with simple things. To books, to organizations like these, but especially by my parents who work so hard and do their best for our family. I am also inspired by anime and manga, and their limitless potential plots that have, in countless times, swerved from the thinking box. Furthermore, I find inspiration in quotes like, “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.” -Einstein. Recently, this quote has revitalized me to keep looking for votes even though my school has an astounding low amount of U.S. Citizens.
I have a dream that one day, people of all kinds, will be welcomed everywhere. That one day, college would be more affordable for everyone, and that one day, hard working people are recognized for their efforts, given tha pay and rights they deserved. I have a dream that no child will be left behind and that they will have all the support they need to reach their grade level. That one day, fewer than zero kids would be bullied, that less than a negative amount of people of all ages would be harassed, prosecuted, rejected, and treated like abnormalities for being themselves. I pray for a happier, caring society.
