We are pleased to spotlight HomeWalk supporter, Trust Company of the West (TCW), which is proud to join other companies within the greater Southern California community in addressing the ongoing issue of homelessness in our community. Given their long history of giving back to the community through various organizations, HomeWalk has come to play a huge role in TCW's community activism efforts as homelessness continues to impact communities far and near.
TCW does a great job of inspiring their employees to get excited about HomeWalk by conducting various inter-company contests and campaigns. Shelley Grey who heads up the effort and is a member of United Way's HomeWalk Steering Committee shared some of their fundraising success stories: "We give our employees daily results on our fundraising efforts via our intranet site as well as charts in our break rooms. Selling paper homes for $10 each is also a motivator for employees to fundraise as they can showcase each purchased home in their work areas. In addition, each purchase earns an entry in the extra vacation day raffle. We post names on our participation banner, which is on display on one of our main floors. This year we have added a Pizza Lunch for the floor with the most walkers. This is all happening because we are most excited about meeting or exceeding our goal this year." TCW's work sets great precedence for other organizations and companies to follow and serves as an inspiration to the capacity each of us has to make an impact on our community.
United Way looks forward to welcoming TCW's Team at HomeWalk again for the 2nd year in a row!
