What Happens When Women Leaders Are in the Kitchen?

2 hours + 10 women working together = a healthy lunch  prepared for 150 homeless women on Skid Row!

United Way Women Leaders from across the region came together on March 7 to prepare a healthy meal for 150 homeless women at United Way partner organization, Downtown Women's Center.

Sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross, the very first Cooking Club volunteer engagement opportunity of the year was a huge success!  Our Women Leaders prepped, chopped and assembled a meal of stuffed pasta shells and Greek salad while getting to know one other and making a difference in the lives of others.

United Way's Women Leaders are dedicated to tackling the root causes of poverty and creating positive change while seeking to energize and inspire other women to take on leadership roles in business and in the community at large.

For more information on how to get involved, please contact Volunteer Services Manager Jessica Yas at jyas@unitedwayla.org.
