A new movement emerged when United Way of Greater Los Angeles launched the EVERYONE IN Campaign on March 9, 2018. Joined by Mayor Eric Garcetti, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, and organizations from across Los Angeles, Echo Park Lake was brought to life with rousing speeches from L.A.’s most prominent community leaders.
The "EVERYONE IN" coalition, comprised of leaders from various sectors, will train and organize people to advocate for new housing and services for homeless people in their neighborhoods, track progress toward countywide goals, educate the public, and give them other opportunities to get involved.
United Way of Greater Los Angeles is hosting the first public activation for this new campaign on April 15 at the historic Exposition Park. EVERYONE IN | South L.A. is a community pop-up event focused on the fight against homelessness. This family-friendly event will shift your perceptions of homelessness with a 45-minute immersive experience and powerful human stories that will inspire you to push for change.
Reserve your spot to participate in this unique experience—which will be offered in both English and Spanish—to see how supportive housing changes people’s lives for the better. Participants will leave ready to take action as they meet caseworkers and formerly homeless individuals who have risen through adversity with the help of their community.
During the event, guests will also enjoy the EVERYONE IN Marketplace where there will be hands-on volunteering opportunities, a virtual reality experience, the chance to meet local nonprofit partners, children’s zone, photo booth, and much more!
Homelessness is one of the most complex and vexing challenges in our community with nearly 58,000 individuals living in instability and on the streets. It touches every neighborhood and has come to define so many lives. But with committed resources and political and community desire, Los Angeles can end the homelessness crisis.
The time to make a difference is now. See how you can join the EVERYONE IN movement here.
