United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ HomeWalk is the county’s largest annual event dedicated to ending homelessness!
Volunteers are vital to HomeWalk’s success. They make the event easy, well-organized, and fun for participants who over the course of the last 10 years have raised over $7.6 million to support our homeless neighbors.
In 2017, more than 500 volunteers assisted with event check-in, parking, crowd control, route safety, distribution of water and refreshments and cheering on our generous walkers/runners! It's fun to volunteer and your participation will make a significant contribution to our goal to end homelessness.
Most volunteer start times are between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m., depending on the position you are assigned to. Most volunteer activities will end by 2:00pm. All volunteers will receive their assignments, shift time, and parking information approximately 3-4 weeks before the event date. One to two dozen volunteers are also needed to assist with event setup the Friday before the event.
