On Wednesday October 3rd, the Tocqueville Society and Emerging Leaders hosted Leadership for L.A.’s Future, a panel discussion at the DTLA Jonathan Club. Jason Wells, Deputy News Director at Buzzfeed, moderated the discussion with panelists United Way of Greater Los Angeles President & CEO Elise Buik, LAUSD School Superintendent Austin Beutner, first Latina President & CEO of the L.A. Chamber of Commerce Maria Salinas, and President of the Goldhirsh Foundation Tara Roth.

The panelists engaged in a solutions-based interactive discussion focused on action. The conversation addressed how leaders like those on the panel think innovatively about solutions, work together to engage L.A.’s diverse business community more effectively and harness the power of collaboration to maximize impact in the community. Tocqueville Chair Chip Lightfoot and Emerging Leader Cabinet Member Katy Stark joined Elise in welcoming current and prospective affinity group members. They asked everyone to join United Way in the Everyone In™ Campaign and at HomeWalk 2019 as we redouble our efforts to end homelessness in L.A. County.

We want to thank our sponsors for the evening, City National Bank, and the Jonathan Club for generously providing the space and gracious hospitality.
